If you look underneath the drivers door handle, there is slot in it which you can put the end of your key in an twist it (careful of the paintwork) and off will pop a plastic cover. There will be a lock under that to open the car with the key if the battery fails to unlock remotely.
Replacing the belt just requires locking off the tensioner and remove and refit the belt. You will need to remove the drivers side front wheel, the plastic undertray and associated plastic bits to get access to the belt. IIRC you can use a 6mm drill bit to lock the tensioner off.
Model: mkIII Octavia Scout. Posted 22 August, 2012. If the setup on the 1.8 is the same as the diesels then I would be looking at the freewheel pulley on the alternator, when that siezes it tends to kill the aux tensioner. Just changing the tensioner may just lead to it killing that one.

Model: Skoda, Octavia. Posted 9 November, 2018. Hello Everyone. I recently traded in my 2016 Skoda Octavia with 2018 model. I loved both but i did not know that the newer one does not have the AUX output to connect to a phone for calls or audio directions on the car radio system. It has a USB outlet but that reads media only.
I'd imagine the 'Remote Ventilation' works in a similar way, it simply turns on the interior fan and recirculates the internal and external air. It won't utilise the air conditioning as this requires the engine to be running. This feature is available from other manufacturers and opinion varies.
